Larry Sloan
Larry’s lifetime of relationships in the automotive parts and repair industry and extensive small business ownership experience makes him an excellent advisor to Oak Capital Advisor’s focus on the automotive repair and tire center industry. Larry’s more than 30 years of experience includes owning six Car Quest Auto Parts stores in the Triangle area and serving as Sales Manager for WORLDPAC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Advance Auto parts providing wholesale distribution of original equipment automotive replacement parts in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. For more than five years at WORLDPAC Larry was responsible for sales management in a territory including North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia generating more than $40 Million of sales revenue annually.
Larry was active in the auto parts and repair industry by serving as President of APAC (Automotive Parts Association of Carolina) and VCAWA (Virginia Carolina Automotive Wholesellers Assocation) in addition to being a long-term member of the IGO (Independent Garage Owner’s Association.)
Larry began his career in a family owned business, where he learned that hard work and developing customer relationships and showing value were keys to growing a business. Larry’s M&A experience includes successfully negotiating the sale of his family-owned business.
Larry and his family have resided in Chapel Hill for more than 30 years. He and his family enjoy spending time in Atlantic Beach, NC and skiing in Colorado.
