Most recently Tom Arndt was consulting for Zac Brown's Southern Ground family of manufacturing businesses. Business segments included custom knife manufacturing, custom wood furniture, leather goods, jewelry, apparel, and custom painting in a variety of applications. While assisting all of these businesses, Mr. Arndt's primary focus was on Southern Grind, Zac's custom knife manufacturer. Over a one year period sales volume tripled through the establishment of a national network of sales representatives and penetrating big-box retailers, lean manufacturing concepts were introduced, a capital spending plan to bring all metal cutting, grinding, and assembly in-house implemented, logistics improvements including a detailed, accurate item  master file were implemented, and  accurate cost accounting systems established.
